Volunteers Are Booming at AVDA

“When you are good to others, you are best to yourself.”

Benjamin Franklin

AVDA is unveiling a new era of volunteering. We are reconnecting with previous supporters and welcoming new friends as we encourage people to become a part of AVDA’s mission.  Volunteering is easy, rewarding and will be a vital part of our team.

Volunteers have been at the center of AVDA since our inception. The Board of Directors are all volunteers and are often joined by community members who help us with special events. Active donors routinely enlist family and neighbors to support AVDA’s needs by holding fundraisers and drives for supplies. These dedicated volunteers help us direct more of our operating income directly to our participants.

Here are examples of volunteering opportunities:

·   Shelter Assistant Volunteer

·   Professional Services

·   Mentor’s Circle

·   Administrative/Special Projects

·   Community of Hope Representatives

·   Special Events

·   Holiday Helpers

With AVDA’s recently announced five year strategic plan, it is an opportune time to establish an active volunteer program of supporters whose talents, ideas and energy can help us achieve our goals. Whether you have a little or a lot of time, AVDA volunteers do make a difference by extending and enhancing the time and talents of our organization in meeting participant needs.

Would you like to be an agent of social change and join AVDA’s mission as a volunteer? The first step is to attend a One-Hour AVDA Open House which is held every third Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at our administrative offices.  Follow up interviews will be scheduled individually by appointment. To make a reservation, call the Volunteer Coordinator at 561- 265-3797 ext. 100 or email Pat at pfranks@avda-fl.com for more information.
