AVDA’s educators offer workshops about domestic violence and AVDA’s available services to many community organizations and groups. Each talk or training is tailored to the requests of the individual club, organization or business. The education may consist of a brief talk on what AVDA is all about, type of services available or how to recognize the warning signs of domestic violence or an extensive training session to develop awareness of a specific domestic violence issue in depth. AVDA also participates in many of the Resource Fairs that are held throughout the community.
AVDA’s Violence Prevention Educators are available to educate healthcare professionals, law enforcement personnel, employers and other non-profit service providers on the topic of domestic violence and how to recognize and respond to victims and those at risk. AVDA educators present and participate in statewide conferences hosted by FCADV and local conferences hosted by other agencies.
