Rebuilding Lives Renewing Hope Appeal

Domestic abuse touches everyone.  It crosses all social, economic, sexual orientation, race and cultural lines.  Domestic abuse is a real threat; and without intervention can result in life-threatening consequences. In fact, in Palm Beach County  last year alone, there were over 5,500 reported domestic violence offenses - 16 of them resulted in death.

In 2015, AVDA’s newly rebuilt emergency shelter was open to residents June 30th. The new state-of-the-art building increases bed capacity by an additional 22 beds and allows AVDA to serve 44% more individuals annually.  Pursuant to state law, the shelter is in an undisclosed location.

We are grateful to the many individuals who have already enthusiastically volunteered to help us in this effort.  Working together, as a team and as a community, we can make a difference in the lives of victims of domestic violence.  We invite you to join us in this important undertaking with your support of the “Rebuilding Lives Renewing Hope” appeal.

"...through AVDA I found the strength and hope I needed to continue this journey through life.  No amount of words could emphasize my have helped me and my two daughters and you have changed the course of our lives."
