These events not only raise funds but also increase community awareness and support the survivors of domestic abuse and the children that we serve. AVDA's 26th Annual Race for Hope
This fun event for all ages (and pets!) supports AVDA's programs and services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children. As one of two state-certified domestic violence shelters in Palm Beach County and the only one whose mission is solely focused on domestic violence, we're thankful that you are joining us as we race for hope to end violence for all.
Our VIRTUAL OPTION has been so well received that we're bringing it back again this year! If you are busy on November 8th or prefer to run on your own time, please participate as a VIRTUAL runner/walker this year. Whatever way you choose to get involved this year, please remember to take a photo of your participation and share to your social media using the hashtag #AVDA'sRaceforHope2025

AVDA's 18th Annual Heart of a Woman Luncheon

The AVDA 18th Annual Heart of a Woman Luncheon was a tremendous success, thanks to our incredible sponsors—including this year’s presenting sponsor, The Vegso Family Foundation—as well as our dedicated board of directors, volunteers, staff, and attendees.
This year, we had the privilege of hearing from Jason Page, National Director of Programs, who spoke about the profound impact of domestic violence prevention. He also highlighted the incredible work of AVDA’s prevention team, inspiring the hundreds in attendance.
AVDA was honored to recognize Thompson Auguste and the Palm Beach County Youth Prevention Team for their outstanding contributions.
In addition to the luncheon, attendees participated in an exciting raffle, featuring exclusive prizes such as a one-of-a-kind Burberry bag, a Michele diamond and pearl watch donated by J.R. Dunn Jewelry, and a luxurious yacht experience.
