Other Ways to Give

  • Corporate Giving

AVDA offers many opportunities for the business community to invest directly in the needs of victims of domestic abuse and their children as well as to provide educational and outreach services to the community to stop domestic abuse before it begins.

    Your business can:

    • Make a financial contribution
    • Fund a program
    • Sponsor an event
    • Hold a food or holiday gift drive

    MATCHING GIFTS

Increase your contribution to AVDA with your company’s matching gift program. To find out if your company participates, and the amount they will match, please contact your company’s human resources department.

  • Planned Giving & Stock Donation

By including AVDA in your estate plans; you help our organization plan for the future while securing your legacy through philanthropy. Through gifts from bequests, charitable remainder trusts, IRAs, life insurance, real estate, and more, donors have various options to provide AVDA with vital funds to allow the organization continue to help thousands in need in our community.

How do I make a planned gift?

The easiest way to include AVDA in your estate plans is through your will. A general bequest will allow AVDA use your gift in the area in which it is most needed. You may also designate your gift to a specific program or purpose; please discuss your planned giving intentions with AVDA’s staff in order to ensure your wishes may be accommodated.

How do I name AVDA in my will?

  • Holiday Giving

Every year, from October 15th - December 15th, you can help the families in our shelter with donations of new, unwrapped gifts and gift cards for the holiday season.

AVDA sets up your donated unwrapped gifts in our board room in a manner similar to a toy store. Survivors come in and "shop" for the items they would like to give their children. This process helps restore power and dignity to those we serve.

Gift cards are greatly appreciated so survivors can get in the holiday spirit with everyone else and shop for the gifts they would like to give their children. Gift cards also help provide options for survivors who have teenage children.
