Commit to Change: A Violence Prevention Initiative
Professional Training – Professional trainings are intended to educate staff members from all sectors, law enforcement, healthcare, business, and government and non-profit social service staff. Training is customized for the audience’s specific profession. Help staff develop knowledge of AVDA’s services, impacts and dynamics of domestic and dating violence, and how to respond to improve survivor outcomes and create safer communities.
Community Education – AVDA staff are available to provide short presentations about our life-saving services and domestic and dating violence in community-based settings. Each presentation is tailored to the group’s request. You can also invite AVDA’s resource table out to participate in your community event.
Prevention –
AVDA’s youth prevention programs are age appropriate and evidence-informed to support young people in the development of healthy relationships. Young people are encouraged and supported to lead community impact projects to prevent domestic and dating violence in the community.
Prevention programming can be multi-session or single workshops provided to youth wherever they meet.
AVDA’s Committed Men campaign focuses to encourage men to get involved with prevention and promoting healthy relationships.
